We were halfway through a four day Boston vacation and the boys were getting restless,
but Christine took control and did wonders settling them down.

Just a quick note...it was great working with all 3 ladies (and Chris!), these past 2 days.
Great people, awesome nannies...Christine was amazing.

We would like to thank Boston BabySitters for an amazing weekend in Boston. Erin and Christine were top notch with our seven children. We were nervous to send off seven kids with individuals we did not know on the streets of Boston, however instantly they felt like dear friends. Erin and Christine took our kids to the aquarium, Constitution and a tour around Boston. The kids loved their weekend with their cousins exploring Boston.

Some of my interests outside of work include photography, being active, travelling, swimming, tennis, skiing, badminton, bowling, cycling, and hiking. I’ve even run two marathons! I also love to cook healthy meals from scratch and bake allergy friendly foods.
I like to help kids succeed and will do everything I can to make that happen. One of my greatest nanny moments was when I was able to transform a child who ate just two vegetables a week to one that ate two a day. Another great moment was when I helped a fourth grader who had major anxiety and stress over homework get to a place where he was able to complete his homework on his own with minimal assistance. In addition to helping kids eat healthier, here are some of the other responsibilities I’m comfortable with:

care of infant, toddler, and school aged children
working with learning disabilities
homework assistance
driving to and from appointments, school, and activities
grocery shopping and meal planning/prep (very knowledgeable about food allergies as well)
plan age-appropriate activities
coordinating playdates
light housecleaning
pet care, including pet (cat & dog) sitting and professional dog walking
I believe in empowering and supporting kids of all ages to be independent and resilient. I try to use logical and natural consequences when it comes to behavior and employ a positive behavior philosophy. Generally, I’ll take the parents lead on what the house rules are, except for physically disciplining a child. I will never physically discipline a child, even if the parents do themselves. I like to set expectations and boundaries with kids up front. I find it generally helps to avoid some of the chaos that happens when kids are unsure and test boundaries. For younger kids, I try to redirect behavior. For older kids I try to encourage them to make good choices and keep an open line of communication and calmly work through any issues as they arise. I am all about taking advantage of teachable moments!
I’m always eager to continue my education and learn new skills. Over the last few years I’ve earned the Connection Centered Discipline Nanny Certification, completed CPR/AED & First Aid training, and have attended a National Nanny Training Day. I’m currently taking a Respectful Discipline course with Robin Einzig, a child development expert and President of Visible Child, Inc. I’ve worked with a variety of families and children over the years. They’ve included infants, toddlers, and school-age children including teens. I’ve also worked with children who have learning disabilities and social/emotional challenges.
My name is Christine and I grew up in Western Massachusetts. I have also lived in Connecticut, Vermont, and Maine but settled in the Boston area for the last 12 years. I started as a nanny in 2007 for a family with two young girls where I realized this was a passion I wanted to pursue. I attended Landmark College where I was the SGA President, an RA for the school’s Summer Transitions Program, and earned an Associate Degree in Education. Prior to nannying, I worked with high school students as the house parent for the Young Photographers Program at the Maine Media Workshops. I grew up babysitting for family, neighbors, and church families throughout middle and high school. I am currently an involved Auntie to two very active nephews and two young nieces.
